BUS ROUTING SYSTEM USING ZIGBEE AND GPS TECHNOLOGY
In modern days bus routes are very critical to guess which one of the route is right way. So it is somewhat critical for us to choose the right way in bus routings system. This problem can be overcome by using Zigbee, GPS technology and internet.
QUICK METHOD TO DETERMINE CONTAMINANT TRANSPORT PARAMETERS FOR THE DESIGN OF SOIL LINERS
Landfilling of the waste is the most widely recommended method for its safe disposal, whose efficiency mainly depends on the barrier system in place. Though possess many limitations, clay liner solely or along with geo-membrane is often used to avoid ground and surface water contamination. The thickness of the liner for a given period depends on the transport rates of the critical contaminants. The transport rates are determined through soil column test which is a lengthy process as the liner material possesses low hydraulic conductivity and strong sorptive capacity. This research work studied the reliability of a quick method to reduce the testing time for column tests. The column experiments were conducted on soil samples of lower densities at relatively higher hydraulic gradients to reduce the testing time. Soil sectioning method was also used for further reduction in the testing time. The concentrations of the contaminant in different sections were estimated and plotted with distance which indirectly reflects the breakthrough curves. This method has been applied for samples compacted to different densities and curves of density versus transport rates were plotted. The transport rates for the required density and hydraulic gradient were back calculated by setting trend lines to the transport rates obtained. It was found that the transport parameters obtained by this method closely agree with those obtained through regular column test method.
